The performance is based on three texts by Vladimir Mayakovsky: "A Cloud in Trousers," "The Man," and the tragedy "Vladimir Mayakovsky." Exploring the theme of cruelty, the production delves into its various forms, from one’s cruelty towards oneself and loved ones, to broader societal manifestations leading to catastrophic outcomes such as wars, genocide, and other disasters that preceded Mayakovsky’s demise. It also explores the transition from individuality to becoming a public figure, the consequences of this transformation and the survival within this painful period, echoing the challenges Mayakovsky himself confronted a century ago as the "main poet of the Soviet era."
