The independent drama festival "Lyubimovka" is a non-profit international project dedicated to Russian-speaking playwrights. "Echo of Lyubimovka" carries on the tradition of the festival, which, in its initial years, took place in the Lyubimovka estate of Konstantin Stanislavsky near Moscow.
Over the past fifteen years, "Lyubimovka" has been hosted at the Moscow "Theater.doc." Due to the onset of the war, holding the festival in Moscow as before has been no longer possible. Nevertheless, teams across the globe, including Estonia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Israel, France, and others, persist in their efforts, hosting the festivals even now.
Maria Ogneva, the art director of the Lyubimovka festival:
"The Lyubimovka team is thrilled that our initiative is thriving, even after the festival's departure from Russia. It's heartening to see more people from different countries embracing 'Echo of Lyubimovka.' It’s especially cool that one of the organizers of ‘Echo’ in Tel Aviv has been Evgeny Kazachkov, the former art director of “Lyubimovka” and our great friend. Despite passing the reins to us three years ago, Zhenya has been a steadfast supporter during challenging times, continuing to contribute to the festival and the broader drama community."
The Echo of Lyubimovka festival in Tel Aviv was produced by the management of the FULCRO theater together with Evgeny Kazachkov with the support of the Malenky theater in November 2022. See all festival readingsLearn more about the festival at:More on instagram
